TOPIC: GOD'S GIFT HIS SON

MEMORISE

Therefore, My Father loves Me because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself (John 10:17-18)

READ: Isaiah 9:6-7

[6]. For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

[7]. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

EXPOSITION

AIthough, Jesus was born a child. He died for us as a "Gifted Son" (cf. Jn. 10:17-18). His crucifixion for our redemption and adoption, was predetermined by God before eternity (Eph 1.3-6) but manifested when the fullness of the time had come (Gal. 4:4-5). On this Good Friday, believers should reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and live not for themselves but for Him Who died and rose again for our salvation (2 Cor. 5:15)

Jesus Christ, as the mature Son of God, willingly offered Himself to die for the sins of humanity, once and for all (Rom 6:10). As the gifted Son of God. He understood His mission and willingly gave Himself for it (Mk. 10:45; 1 Jn. 3:16a; I Pet. 2:24).

This is the message of the Good Friday, the Day God in Christ Jesus willingly offered to die for the sins of humanity which He never committed (2 Cor. 5:21). Have you come to Him for redemption? Consciously allow Christ in your life: He'll deliver you totally from sinning (Matt. 1-21 Gal. 2:20)

PRAYER POINTS

1. I pray for a deep grasp of Jesus sacrificial love, as He wingly offered Himself for our redemption.

2. Christ, I welcome You into my life for Your transformative power in all respect.

3. Ask for hearts to be changed this Good Friday, motivating believers to live for Christ, our Saviour.
