TOPIC: EMBRACING THE ESSENCE OF EVERLASTING LOVE

MEMORISE : Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1a)

READ: John 3:16; 1 John 3:1-3.

John 3: 16

[16]. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

1 John 3:1-3.

[1]. Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

[2]. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

[3]. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

EXPOSITION

Celebrating love is commendable, yet love is a perpetual force that sustains us daily. Our existence is a testament to the enduring love bestowed upon us, as the Scripture emphasises (Lam. 3:22-23). Every sunrise shows Love's steady presence, yet some misuse its beauty for selfish gain. It is important to understand that real love goes beyond surface actions and we need to resist societal pressures to stay true to values like respect and commitment. Love, as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, doesn't rejoice in wrongdoing. Those who truly care for others won't encourage them to do wrong. In the midst of societal events, let us remember the unique unconditional love that fills different parts of life

As stated in John 3:16, the divine love serves as the epitome of selflessness, a love that can do anything to ensure a meaningful life for those who embrace it. Have you embraced Christ's love that enriches lives and give us grace to obtain purity everyday?

1. Thank You Jesus for Your love for us, enmeshed in Your sacrificial and atoning death on the cross.

2. Lord Jesus, help us to embrace Your true, genuine and unconditional love.

3. Help our youths, Oh Lord, to understand and live by what true Love is and forsake lust.
