READ: Matthew 23:37-39

[37]. “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! 

[38]. See! Your house is left to you desolate; 

[39]. for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ 

EXPOSITION 

God desires His children to walk in humility and submission, but obstinacy leads to rebellion and disobedience. In Matthew 23:37-39, Jesus laments over Jerusalem's obstinacy, expressing His desire to gather them under His protective wings, yet they were unwilling. Their refusal to submit to God's guidance and embrace His offer of salvation ied to their downfall. Obstinacy in our hearts can hinder us from receiving the rest and peace that Christ offers. An unroly heart stubbornly refuses to yield to God's authority and insists on following its own desires. An unruly heart leads to destruction and ruin

      We must surrender our obstinacy to God, allowing His Spirit to transform our hearts and align them with His will. Let us pray for humility, self-control and submissiveness to God's guidance. May the Lord help us to yield to His loving invitation to find rest for our souls, trusting in His wisdom and provision.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, soften my heart and remove all stubbornness and rebellion from within me.

2. Jesus, help me to humbly submit to Your guidance and direction.

3. Holy Spirit, empower our church ministers to walk in humility and obedience to God.
